What is double opt-in?
Definition
Double opt-in is a process used to verify new contacts in your mailing lists and confirm their subscription to them. Once the contact's email address is collected, a subscription confirmation email is sent and the email address is validated. Once the contact confirms this email it will be added to the subscriber list.
Differences between double opt-in and single opt-in
This type of validation can considerably improve the delivery of your emails and the quality of your contact list.
In email marketing there is an eternal debate between deciding what is better: single or double opt-in. While the two have their advantages and disadvantages, in the end as a marketer you will ultimately decide which one is best for your business.
In a simple opt-in process, subscribers give their email address and immediately add to a mailing list. In the double opt-in it is necessary to confirm the email received after filling out a form.
Benefits
We currently have a number of advantages offered by the opt-in email validation system.
1. Acquire better qualified contacts
2. Avoid having any problems with GDPR
3. Create a stronger relationship with new contacts from a campaign
4. Improve the deliverability of your emails
5. Increase connections in your business
6. 6. Make your brand known

If you are looking for ways to improve the quality of contacts and deliverability, double opt-in should be one of the first places to start. This allows you to create a more specific and committed tracking of your contacts and makes it easier to optimize your campaigns.
Types of mail status
Fideltour distinguishes three possible states for the email of a contact: New, Validated andVerified.
When a contact is added to your database its email it gets the initial state ofNew. This means that mail has not gone through any validation process and we do not know whether the email entered by the contact is real or not. By interacting with this contact for the first time, Fideltour may conclude whether or not the email entered is valid. We understand that an email is valid when, when sending you a communication, we do not receive a rebound from the message due to a domain or false address. If the email exists and the message is delivered correctly, the new status of the email for this contact will be theValid.

There are situations where a rebound of the message is received for temporary situations, such as lack of response from the server or because the inbox is full. In these cases we do not invalidate mail, as we understand that it is a temporary problem that may not happen in the future and we wait for subsequent communications to take a decision. If the mail is invalid, Fideltour will automatically diswrite the contact from your mailing list - it will not delete the BBDD contact, as we understand that the contact sheet contains an interest.
The last state of the mail,Verified, is carried out through the double opt-in procedure described above. Upon obtaining a new contact, Fideltour automatically sends a subscription confirmation email with which the user must interact. The double opt-in process ensures not only that the mail entered by the contact is valid, but also that this email address actually belongs to the person who has subscribed to your mailing list.

The double opt-in process is available in Fideltour on request and prior personalized development. Contact our support team -support@fideltour.com- for a custom quote for your company.
How do I prepare for mail validation in Fideltour?
Procedure
The procedure to be carried out to prepare for the automatic validation of the mail for a new contact is very simple. As a Fideltour user you will need to create a new automated campaign by welcoming the contact to your subscription list, which the system will use to assess the validity of the email entered by the user. If the user receives and interacts with this message, Fideltour will validate their email address.

Thetrigger-or trigger, a criterion that Fideltour uses to send the campaign to a contact - of this campaign that you will have to schedule must be based on the date of registration of the contact. When scheduling the automated campaign, select this criterion from the window that appears by clicking on the "Send" button and set the days apart from this date to "0" in the same window.
The procedure for validating a contact should in most cases be sufficient to meet a company's needs in terms of the quality level of its database. If you think this free system is not enough, please contact us for a quote from the double opt-in validation system.
